Easter is the time Christians all over the world remember the suffering, crucifixion and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Like in many other Christian festival seasons, people are taken up by the excitement that comes with the seasons and forget the significance. ...
The world is going through an unprecedented crisis because of Coronavirus (Covid-19). There is panic all over the world which has affected important aspects of human life-social and economic aspects. Although a insignificant number has died or been infected with the virus, everybody is scared. Governments have banned travels by their citizens to areas considered to have high coronavirus infections. Share markets have been recording continued drop in the value of shares. Social relations of people have been affected through suspicions of infections; people refusing even to greet or be near to each other. This presents both a threat and an opportunity to the church.
A threat because any report of an infection of a member may send numbers in the church dwindling due to fear. Opportunity because, this could be the time the church can be the hope of the world. Believers can reassure people that God is in control. Due to panic and fear though not the best way to use, many may run to Christ for Salvation and protection. This week, let us pray for the world that many people may turn to Christ at this time of uncertainty. Pray that believers may not react to coronavirus news the same as the world.
