Secret of Prosperity.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night. so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success
Joshua 1:8 NASB

God gave Joshua a simple formula for prosperity and success-observation of his law. He was told to make sure that the book of the law would never depart from his mouth but he should instead meditate upon it day and night. It was when he did this; when as the Psalmist (Psalms 119:11) he hides the law of the Lord in his heart that he would be careful to do according to what was written in it. What will then happen? He would make his way prosperous and get success.

There are many modern day preachers of prosperity. They have all manner of formulae for prosperity: planting a seed; blessing the man of God; using some magical oil or salt: praying and fasting and so on. Many believers who have tried some of these formulae for prosperity have ended up in frustration because instead of prosperity, they have failed in everything they tried to do. The formula for success and prosperity is this; love the Lord and obey his word. Jesus himself put it this way: But seek ye the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Seeking the kingdom of God is doing what is pleasing to the Lord. When you seek the kingdom of God first in your life, he will take care of your other problems.

Christians should stop seeking the gifts and blessings but instead seek the Giver first. We should do what the Lord told Joshua to do-meditate on the word of God; hide it in our hearts and do according to what is written in it. Let us stop putting the cart before the horse by looking for gifts before the Giver. Joshua was told that when he meditates upon God's law and lives according to its instructions, he will make his way prosperous and would get success. Try this in your life and then you can escape the deception of modern day prosperity preachers.
